It has been some hot weeks — Summer is in full scale and before some short holiday travels, here is another vonBiomes update. I took everything under the magnifying glass, touched every custom asset in the mod for optimization and spent long nights optimizing and extending the mod. And here it is: the new vonBiomes 20 with new looks, (hopefully for everyone) notable better performance, and a new biome!

Another Update for vonBiomes in Early Access is ready for your Mechwarrior adventures! The new mod version 19 brings you a new biome for alien jungles and there is a major upgrade for visual effects built into it: Lightning lighting!

Well, this took a while (it feels like I have said this before;), but here is a next upgrade for vonHUD and all which extend it — and that is quite much. With the integrated Satellite View (PageUp Key on your keyboard) new possibilities opened up. What was originally just thought to have a better way for commanding your mechs around is now getting more and more a commander's suite.

Another round was deeply necessary — for some people out there, the last vonBiomes version 17 still had some issues. So I took the time to do more polishing and optimization, fixing bugs and in general improving everything further. But there is also new stuff in the fresh vonBiomes mod version 18.

Yesterday, the DLC6 for Mechwarrior 5 was released — and here is already your Special Update for vonBiomes! This new version saw weeks of polishing, getting the new volumetric clouds and lighting effects under control was quite an undertaking. So far, all tests look promising, and since the new DLC is a perfect opportunity to drop a new release, here is vonBiomes 17 final in its Patreon Special Edition variant!

Let's do another round — vonBiomes 16 did bring new shiny stuff, but also had still some performance troubles on the overhauled biomes Basalt Pillars, Rocky Desert and on Space Port City. This new version fixes that — my apologies for the added loop, but with this service update, things should run smooth again for those environments.

The latest vonBiomes version 16, around one week ago, introduced the new "Xenolichen" biome. It had in its initial release not the best performance in terms of FPS - but now that should be fixed! But also, I would rather not waste your download volumes, so I have added more fixes and also new biome add-ons in this shiny new vonBiomes 16 Finally Final Edition™ version!

The holiday season is coming! Before being off for some days over Christmas, here is the next vonBiomes Update — as a special Xmas Edition! Now hotfixed with new Downloads! To theme things accordingly, this new version adds a winter variant of Old Forest, covered in snow. And if you play some Mechwarrior between the 23rd and the 27th of December, there is something.. magical happening ;)

That one was a … hard nut to crack. I have spent the last weeks learning how custom story mission setups work in Mechwarrior 5, and there have been heavy bumps along the road. But finally, there is an outcome! I am proud to present: the first custom handcrafted mission in the vonMissions Mod alongside Solaris 7!

My assumption was wrong, there is an update necessary for vonBiomes to be compatible with DLC 5. PGI changed a function in the game which I used to determine if you play campaign/career or instant action. That broke with DLC5. But no worries (except for your bandwidth, sorry for that;) – here is already an updated version for the Early Access mod, including the 4 new biomes and many upgrades:

It is the end of the month – and as usual, I always try to push out at least one update for you and your Mechwarrior universe around that time! After the Solaris 7 Leagues setups, which is a more repetitive task, I plunged into vonBiomes once more for a more creative break from the Solaris 7 configuration of numbers and selection fields.

A new version of Solaris 7 is ready to be downloaded! The new Mod adds Sensor sweeps to counteract searching too long for other Mechs, especially in the later stages of a battle, and some upgrades to the Jungle with new Stone Pillars as additional cover.
