With the "Mod Options" Mod active in your mod list, you have a wide range of options for adding additional visual quality and rendering features like Global Illumination (GI), Volumetric Fog or High-quality Shadows.
Get the Mod Options Mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/537 or find it on Steam's Workshop.
Core Options:
Use Volumetric Fog (Standard: On)
Enables Volumetric Fog, that reacts to lighting and has a better visual quality. For lower performance systems, do deactivate this option.
Enable Global Illumination (Standard: Off)
Global Illumination or GI is an advanced render effect that adds light bouncing and makes the game visuals more realistic and authentic. Enable if you have a more powerful card from the Geforce 3000 RTX series or above.
High-quality Shadows (Standard: Off)
The checkbox enables better shadows, that are more detailed and look better. Recommendation: On for more modern GPUs

For Low Performance PCs
Performance: Disable Volumetric Clouds
Removes the Volumetric Clouds completely. This can help with the performance eon lower end computers. Additionally, for VR, disable the volumetric clouds, since they do not work on both eyes in Unreal 4.
For lower-end PCs, dont forget to disable the Core Options, those are all eating up some FPS.
Mod Option Finetuning
Look & Fix: Barrel Lens
The barrel lens effect bends and pushes the rendered view a little out. This can help if you experience tearing effects from volumetric clouds on the sides of your monitor. Recommendation: on or off
Looks: Global Illumination Strength
This slider controls how visually strong the GI lighting effect is. Recommendation: 2.0
Cockpit enhancement
Cockpit Light and Light Color
vonBiomes adds a light to the Mech's cockpit, you can set its strength and light color with the mod option
Other Options:
There are some fun options, the Retro Filter makes your Game Pixelated, and GradientFX adds random color gradients.. those are more intended as fun options:)
Audio: Ambient Volume
vonBiomes adds environment sounds like rain and lightning, crumbling earthquakes, jungle birds and more. With the slider, you can adjust their volume. May need mission restart after change.
Performance: Volumetric Cloud Samples
Volumetric Clouds are active by standard in vonBiomes. The number of samples represents their rendering quality. Higher numbers have a high impact on performance. Recommendation: 1
Deprecated
Looks: Soft Light Strength
Additionally, a soft light effect is in place in vonBiomes, which has very low performance impact and can even be used without GI. The slider controls its strength, Recommendation: 1.5
